Dr. K. Ullas Karanth

Dr. K. Ullas Karanth is one of the leading conservation zoologists in the country and heads the Indian program of WCS. He initiated the first detailed ecological study of tigers in India employing radio telemetry at Nagarahole, Karnataka which has grown into a successful country wide effort to understand and Tigers. In 2012, he was awarded the prestigious Padma Shree title by the Indian government for his contributions to wildlife conservation.
